Mastering Search Across Millions of Episodes

Podscan lets you search through millions of podcast episodes. That's like having a super-powered search engine just for podcasts. Let's learn how to find exactly what you need.

Think of these as different zoom levels on a map:

  1. Episode Search - Find specific conversations
  2. Podcast Search - Find entire shows

Smart Filters


Podcast and episode search have several filters you can set: sorting, active fields, ignore/include, and categories.



Sorting can be done by Best Match, Newest, and Oldest.


Episode sortingctive fields can be selected on the right, in the "Search in:" section. You can restrict search to the title of the episode, its description, the transcript, or the name of the podcast that episode belongs to.

Search Examples



Instead of searching just "startup funding", try:

  • "raised Series A"
  • "venture capital investment"
  • "angel investor"
  • "seed round"


The system finds variations and related mentions.

Sorting can be done by Best Match, Recently Updates, Most Episodes, and Highest Rated:


Podcast Sorting

You can select to search in the name of the podcast or in its description. You can also select categories to refine your search.


Reading Results


Each episode result shows you:

  • When it was published
  • Number of listens/ratings
  • A snippet of context


Click the episode to see the details of the exact moment — including listening to the segment.



Each podcast resuit shows you:

  • How many episodes have been published
  • How many Apple Podcast ratings the podcast has
  • Who publishes the show
  • When it was last updated


Click the podcast to see more details, including contact information.



Search Tips


  • Use quotes for exact phrases
  • Try different word orders
  • Include common misspellings
  • Think about how people talk
